It's no surprise that a lot of colleges and universities have taken advantage of it. Google for Education is a free service that school administrators can sign up for and offer their staff and students. edu email account and your school uses Google for Education, you could have access. Moreover, they removed the storage limits on Google Drive and added support for individual file sizes up to 5 TB. Back in 2014 Google announced that they would no longer be charging educational institutions a fee for using their line of Google Apps including Google Drive through Google for Education. If you are in college, or have alumni status, you might have unlimited cloud storage via Google Drive. So here is my holiday gift to you: unlimited Google Drive storage for free.
By now, you should already know the importance of backing up your data, and while storage (even cloud storage) isn't all that expensive these days it's still an expense.
